PURE - PLATELET RICH PLASMA (P-PRP) INJECTION TREATMENT UK

SOFT TISSUE/JOINT INJECTION THERAPY & COSMETIC/HAIR LOSS TREATMENT

PRP injection treatments are the most common and popular treatments we do here at our Dynamic Clinics in Birmingham and Warwickshire. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a cell biologics treatment that is effectively used in the regions of orthopaedic medicine, musculoskeletal medicinesports injury medicine, and of course, is very commonly used within cosmetic aesthetics, especially hair loss treatment & skin rejuvenation.  The reason why PRP therapy is so popular in hair loss treatment & skin rejuvenation is due to its ability to stimulate dormant hair follicles and to promote & restore new skin collagen. Due to PRP treatment having the staggering ability to stimulate dying hair follicles, it has to make PRP treatment and very favourable and effective No. 1 treatment for hair loss and hair restoration

Within musculoskeletal medicine, PRP treatment is used to treat a wide range of muscle strains/tears, ligament/joint damage, tendon injuries, arthritis/joint degenerative conditions, and for joint maintenance. PRP treatment is a very popular treatment used to facilitate the repair and healing of injured or damaged tissues.

PRP treatment is an exciting treatment in a new health sector known as "ORTHOBIOLOGICS". The philosophy behind orthobiologics - is to merge cutting-edge biological technological treatment with the body's natural ability to heal itself. PRP treatment is a very common and simple form of regenerative medicine consisting of a specialised process by which specialised bioactive growth factors are harvested from the patient's own blood, are then concentrated and used into an area of tissue damage to stimulate the healing process, reduce inflammation, and decrease pain. Our blood is made of red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma, and platelets. It is the platelets that release healing proteins called growth factors and it is these growth factors that accelerate tissue healing. By increasing these platelets, we are able to deliver an amplified mixture of growth factors that can dramatically enhance tissue repair and healing. Here at Dynamic Regenerative Medicine we only use the best i-Stem PRP kits for the best quality platelet-rich plasma. Further information on PRP therapy can be found on the following links below:

PRP treatments have been used extensively for the following with fantastic results:

1) THE TREATMENT OF HAIR LOSS

2) COSMETIC AESTHETICS

3) JOINT / SOFT TISSUE PAIN & INJURY

Dynamic Regenerative Medicine uses an advanced form of P-PRP (PURE PRP) with i-Stem PRP injection treatment in Birmingham and surrounding areas that uses a concentrated blood platelet injection containing highly concentrated healing growth components that increase the body’s natural ability to repair itself. Here at Dynamic Regenerative Medicine we only use the best iStem PRP kits UK.

P-PRP treatments are effective due to platelets having a stimulating effect within the targeted area. Also, they play a key role in repairing damaged tissue. So the primary goal in platelet (PRP) treatments is to get these powerful cells to work harder and faster.

Mr Adam Whatley is the clinic director and specialises in regenerative medicine – providing an effective multitude of safe, easy and non-surgical treatments, within orthopaedics and cosmetic aesthetics.

PRP PROCEDURE

PRP is a very simple, fast and safe procedure whereby, a small amount of blood (20-40ml) is drawn from the patient's vein (same procedure of having a blood test). The blood is then placed in a centrifuge that spins the blood for 15 minutes - separating the contents of the blood into red blood cells and white blood cells (plasma) - 10ml of each. For treatment, we require the 10-20ml of plasma. From this 10-20ml, it will then be divided half again into 5-10ml high concentration P-PRP and 5-10ml PPP (platelet-poor plasma). We then use the 5-10ml high concentration P-PRP, with the possibility of adding some additional PPP if we wish. Platelet concentration 3/6 over baseline. These platelets are rich in healing growth factors. These highly concentrated platelets are then specifically injected into the focus area (whether it be for pain management or for cosmetic purposes). Non-injection treatment is also offered via mesotherapy. Here at Dynamic Regenerative Medicine we only use i-Stem PRP kits UK.

Our PRP treatments are carried out in a very speedy fashion and pain or discomfort is kept to an absolute minimum. In fact, the majority of our patients are able to carry out their normal daily routine the same day of treatment, although relative rest is advised. During this time, specialised platelets release bioactive growth factors that stimulate repairing healing. Since the treatment is prepared from your own blood cells, the treatment carries a very low risk and side-effects are generally very uncommon. The number of injections required depends on the area of concern.

As mentioned above the treatment itself is very fast, and can be done and finished in just a few minutes.

Following the consultation, we can then (if you choose to) apply a mild anaesthetic numbing agent to the treated area, prior to your treatment. This makes the procedure even more comfortable. The majority of our patients have said the procedure is NOT painful, with over 90% of our patients not opting to use any numbing agent.

Please note: If you are prone to feeling light headed or fainting with a blood draw, it will be recommended to drink plenty of water and to keep very well hydrated the days leading up to your treatment and the day of. Also, to eat a good breakfast before coming in, along with bringing a bottle of cold water and some sugary food with you.

PRP RECOVERY

After the PRP injection treatment, the patient is free to head off home and carry on with normal routine activities, with post-procedure instructions (in accordance with your specific treatment). It is not uncommon to experience very mild discomfort for a couple of hours to a day or so following PRP treatment, as this represents part of the healing process and is completely normal, but the majority of patients experience little discomfort following treatment. It is advised NOT to take anti-inflammatories following your treatment, however, paracetamol is fine. Follow up is usually in four weeks.

Patients who are having treatment for joint pain or tendinitis, these are encouraged to participate in a protocol of physical rehabilitation therapy following the treatment to enhance and speed recovery.

WHO CAN HAVE PRP TREATMENTS?

PRP injections may be an appropriate choice for patients who have tendon or joint pain OR for cosmetic use in hair restoration and skin rejuvenation.

For those who are having the treatment for pain, ideal candidates are adult patients (over the age of 18) and patients who have failed previous conservative treatment. As long as you are medically fit and well, you can participate in treatment. A list of contra-indications to treatment will be explained to you, like long use of anti-inflammatories or blood thinners, infection, and compromised immune system...
