Scar Treatment with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Birmingham

Scars, especially Acne scars can be very distracting for whoever has them. Unfortunately, makeup can only be a temporary correction but is not a solution for the deep, pitted acne scars.

So what’s available for treating scars and acne scars? Up until this point, laser treatments were the only fairly reliable way to treat scars and acne scars. Dynamic Regenerative Medicine  in Solihull is excited to offer acne scar treatments to patients with a new skin rejuvenating treatment that will naturally and reliability treats scars like acne scars, by using PRP or Platelet Rich Plasma Treatment. This new treatment harnesses the power of growth factors in your own platelets to rejuvenate and correct the skin, by stimulating the production of collagen. Our PRP kit uses the brand Dr PRP, treating skin conditions such as acne scars. How PRP Works Here at Dynamic Regenerative Medicine  our Platelet Rich Plasma injections use a special technique to create a Platelet substance rich in growth factors, made from a sample of your own blood. This then is used to be injected into your acne scarring. The extracted growth factors from your blood then promote tissue healing and regenerate the growth of collagen and elastin via a simple, natural process. What to Expect During Your PRP Treatment To start with a clinician will draw a small sample of blood from your arm. The blood then goes through a process of centrifugation to convert it into PRP. This process takes about six minutes. Once finished, the high concentration PRP is injected into the acne scar areas. The whole appointment will take approximately 30 minutes. There is no downtime associated with PRP kits and you can go back to work the same day. What Are The Risks With PRP Treatment? PRP injection treatment uses your own blood to naturally rejuvenate the skin, making there is virtually no risk of allergic reaction. There is very minimal pain involved with PRP. The treatment is very quick and the needle used to inject the acne scar sites is very tiny. Also, local anaesthetic can be used. While there is no downtime, we do our very best to minimalise any bruising via hood adopted needling technique, however, some swelling and bruising may occur in sensitive areas. Natural arnica gel is applied to the skin immediately following treatment to help with swelling or bruising. When Can I See Results from PRP treatment? Some plumping and volume of the skin can be seen immediately. For full results, allow 4 weeks for the growth factors to work fully. How Many PRP Treatments Are Needed? The number of treatments varies by patient. Typically, we recommend a treatment course of 1-3 injection sessions. Each treatment should be spaced four weeks apart. Wewill discuss your treatment plan with you during your first visit. Find out more on how PRP treatment can help you treat your scars. We have clinics operating out of Solihull and Birmingham.
