WHAT IS PRP WITH MICRONEEDLING?
Microneedling is a treatment that involves the use of tiny needles that produce micro-trauma to the top layer of the skin. These micro- incisions then stimulate the body’s natural collagen production that is required for increased elasticity and strength to skin and body tissue. To further facilitate and amplify the healing process, microneedling We then inject PRP into the treated areas, sometimes PRP is often known as the 'Vampire Facial' or the 'Vampire Facelift'. The PRP is obtained from drawing a small amount of your own blood, from which the plasma is separated to concentrate all important growth factors and healing properties. WHAT TO EXPECT WITH PRP & MICRONEEDLING
Before your treatment begins, a numbing gel is applied to the area so the treatment is comfortable. But it is only a very quick procedure and the majority of our patients report only mild discomfort which settles down very quickly. Our Birmingham PRP and micro needling treatments require you to have a 40 minute treatment slot, however, treatment itself will only last for 5/10 minutes.
Initially we will withdraw a small amount of blood and then process this for extraction of concentrated platelets. Whilst this is happening, we will then carry out micro needling to the skin which will only last a couple of minutes. Following on from this, we will then inject high concentrated platelet rich plasma (PRP) treatment to areas of concern.
After your treatment, the majority of our patients notice immediate results, which will continue to improve over the next few days, and can last months. As your body’s natural collagen production is now stimulated, you should see the texture and quality of your skin continue to improve for up to six months. Downtime and recovery is very minimal, mild redness usually only lasts a couple of hours, with the majority of clients carrying out their normal day-to-day business the day afterwards.
