Injectable Platelet Rich Fibrin (i-PRF) Stimulates Greater Skin Collagen Production for Rejuvenation

Regenerative medicine in the field of skin and facial anti-aging aesthetics has become a growing area of great interest with many recent progressions made over the past decade to meet the huge growing demand. While first treatment protocols of platelet rich plasma (PRP) were used with the additional use of anticoagulants, recent advancements and modifications have been made to the operation of centrifugation in progression and development to a liquid platelet rich fibrin (injectable-PRF) without the additional chemicals and the use of anticoagulants.

A recent study looked to compare this natural platelet concentrate of injectable-PRF to formally used PRP on skin cell behaviour and regeneration. This study looked to investigate the separate treatments for their ability to promote and influence cell viability. Results identified that all platelet concentrates were safe/non-toxic to cells demonstrating high cell survival. Skin fibroblasts (new skin cells) where shown to have migrated over 350% more in injectable-PRF when compared to control and standard PRP (200% increase). Injectable-PRF also shown a significant greater cell regeneration at 5 days. While both forms of treatment induced significantly elevated cell levels, it was observed that collagen 1 levels were all significantly highest in the injectable-PRF group. Also, injectable-PRF demonstrated a significantly greater ability to induce collagen matrix synthesis when compared to PRP.

This study then went on to conclude from their findings that it was demonstrated that a greater regenerative potential was found of i-PRF on human skin fibroblasts, therefor having a greater potential for new collagen production. Future clinical use of i-PRF in the field of skin facial aesthetics and anti-ageing is necessary to further evaluate the potential advantages of anticoagulant removal from platelet concentrates. But so far what we beginning to understand is that i -PRF becomes a good approach for soft and mineralised tissue healing considering the formation of a three-dimensional fibrin network gathering platelets and important healing cells that stimulate bioactive growth factors. Indeed, the injectable platelet rich fibrin can be indicated in several medical applications regarding bioactivity, simplied technique, and flowable mixing with other biomaterials.

Regenerative Skin Bio-stimulation

Injectable platelet-rich fibrin or (iPRF) is a unique rejuvenation treatment, and modification from traditional PRP therapy. It uses the patient’s own blood platelets, in high concentration, pros wealth of healing proteins and growth factors that are used for tissue healing, tissue stimulation and the recruitment of new stem cells.

I-PRF Hair Growth Treatment

This is an effective all-natural non-surgical for patients who suffer from hair loss or thinning. I-PRF is used promote the growth of hair regrow the via the stimulation of hair follicles, as well as increasing new blood vessels.

Here at Dynamic Regenerative Medicine in Birmingham we base our treatments on a strong evidence base. Further research studies below:
