Platelet rich plasma (PRP) treatment for hair loss Birmingham / Solihull

Treatment

Following an examination of your hair and scalp and recommend a treatment will be planned. PRP hair therapy is usually performed in 3/4 sessions at 4 week intervals. An ongoing maintenance programme of top of treatments at  6–18 months is recommended for ongoing follicle stimulation. Side Effects PRP comes from your own blood so adverse reactions are rare, you may experience slight redness and swelling but those reactions that are associated with any injection procedure but usually pass in a day or two.

Recovery

There is no Downtime or a recovery period after a PRP procedure as it isn’t required, patients can continue their normal life after undergoing the treatment. Results Improvement in hair growth is a gradual process and can be measurable within a 3 months period, with hair growth continuing to improve over the next 12 months. What we expect to see is reduced shedding initially, with improved hair density and better coverage. Results will vary depending on factors such as general health, age, diet, smoking and hair condition. PRP can be combined with other hair loss treatments such as minoxidil

and hair transplant.
