New study yet again shows effectiveness for Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Treatment for Hair Loss / Res

More evidence regarding Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Injection Treatment confirms that it can stimulate dormant hair follicles and promote regowth and dying Hair. The study “Platelet-rich plasma for androgenetic alopecia: Does it work? Evidence from meta analysis,” was published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology 2017.

PRP Treatment is an effective treatment that will reguarly perform here at Dynamic Regenerative Medicine Birmingham that uses the cells involved in tissue healing to treat hair loss by stimulating hair follicles. Itutilises  a patient’s own blood to rejuvenate thinning hair. At Dynamic Regenerative Medicine we begin PRP Therapy with the extraction of a small amount of blood, which is placed in a closed system centrifuge to separate the platelets we use. The concentrated platelets are then injected into the scalp treatment area. These platelets then release growth factors that then get to work, and better still this process is completely natural.  The article examined six different studies involving 177 patients who used PRP to stimulate hair. The findings confirmed the effectiveness of PRP to increase hair growth, with a 24 percent increase in hair per square cm with PRP. Additionally, the studyreports the percentage increase in cross-sectional hair thickness for those who underwent PRP Therapy was 42 percent after treatment. The effects were seen in both men and women. These findings reflect the very positive patient results we at Dynamic Regenerative Medicine . These results which have been observed among patients who have benefitted from PRP Treatment for Hair loss.

Results observed are increased Hair thickness and coverage. Better still, PRP treatment holds minimal side effects! We apply a topical anesthetic to minimize discomfort, and patients often describe a mild “sunburn” sensation following the procedure which typically fades quickly.  For optimal benefit we recommend a series of three to four treatments, each one spaced three to four weeks apart, followed by a maintenance program of one PRP treatment every six to twelve months going forward. One simple reason for following a maintenance program is that the condition responsible for hairloss in androgenetic alopecia is the genetic inheritance of a pattern of hair that is sensitive to the miniaturizing effect of DHT on these follicles.  It should also be understood that the quality of PRP Therapy can vary greatly, which can have a significant impact on patient results. At Dynamic Regenerative Medicine we understand the great importance of follow up and advice. Also worth noting is that unfortunately, patients with an absence of hair follicles are not good candidates for PRP Therapy. Healthy hair follicles need to be present for PRP to stimulate new hair growth. Contact Dynamic Regenerative Medicine
