PRP Treatment After Hair Transplant: Dynamic Regenerative Medicine.

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) treatment is an extremely important treatment following on from hair transplant surgery. PRP treatment works to promote hair growth and strength, and works to enhance the overall success of transplant surgery.

What is PRP treatment and how does it work for hair growth?

PRP treatment is a very simple, natural, safe treatment that uses platelets suspended in plasma from your own blood. These platelets are very specialised cells that work to stimulate hair follicles via the release of growth factors. This works very very complex biological process called neoangiogenesis. which basically means the creation of new blood vessels that stimulate tissue and signal hair follicle stem cells.

PRP or PRF?

Both PRP and PRF are good treatments for promoting hair growth. Dynamic Regenerative Medicine's Hair Clinic in Birmingham and Henley In Arden, Warwickshire have been using this treatment for over 10 years and see fantastic results with both treatments. This being said, we tend to use a mixture of both. We want to treatment natural with the highest number of platelets, which of the important cells.

How often is PRP needed following on from a hair transplant?

Following on from hair transplant surgery, it is generally recommended to do a course of 4 treatments initially 1 per month approximately. Then it is recommended to carry out maintenance and preservation treatments every 3-6 months. This works to maintain healthy strong growth and to reduce to progression of hair loss and weakness.
